Day Hike Checklist

Embarking on a day hike presents a great opportunity to immerse yourself in nature, either alone or accompanied by loved ones. Whether your preference is venturing deep into the heart of mountainous terrains or exploring the scenic trails closer to your home, the options are endless. Many state and national parks, as well as national forests, boast extensive trail networks for you to discover.

The contents of your hiking pack depend on several factors: the planned distance of your hike, the remoteness of your chosen location, and the anticipated weather conditions. Generally, the longer or more isolated the hike, or the more challenging the weather conditions, the more you should pack in terms of clothing, gear, food, and water.

At minimum, we like to bring these items on your next day hike:
